2019 - Comittments and Challenges

Monday 13th February.

I'm sitting here in a shared working space because I wanted to get away from my home office for a day. And also, escape the cat who likes to sit on my head when I'm working.  It feels good to be working under a different light and it's close to the Pilates class I'm going to at noon.

I can't believe I just said that.

I made a commitment to myself that I would focus more on my business this year, and honestly, this is the first time I have sat down to specifically do just that. Becoming self-employed has been one of the greatest gifts of my adult life (Afternoon pilates anyone?)  and certainly, one of the most challenging.

You meet yourself, in all your forms, when you are running your own business. And sometimes it ain't pretty (I'm talking to you - Fear & Procrastination)

Finding the balance between working for your clients and working on your own business, can be tough. I spend hours and hours creating for other people, and neglecting my own stuff.  And of course, that's not right. Not only will it not make me happy but ultimately, it will prevent me from growing.

So it feels good to be sitting here, writing my own blog post,  for my own website,  on my own time.

I'll keep going with this. Allocating little spaces of 'MyBusinessTime' all throughout the week, little pockets of air to sustain and nourish me, helping me to head in the healthy direction I want to go.
